Chunky Knit Throw Blanket Class

Want to learn the latest craze - Chunky Knit Throw Blankets?  Sue Collins will guide you step-by-step through hand-knitting a warm, soft chunky blanket for free.  If you started a blanket last year and didn't finish, bring it and Sue will help you finish it.

No knitting needles, crochet hooks or knitting experience required.

YARN IS NOT PROVIDED.  You must bring your own yarn and scissors..

A 40" x 50" chunky chenille throw blanket requires 160 yards of size JUMBO (7) yarn that has a recommended knitting needle size of 25mm USA.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some manufacturers state size 7 and its yarn is half as thick as other manufacturer's size 7.  Be sure to buy the size 7 yarn that has the recommended knitting needle size to ensure you have the correct chunky yarn.  It should be almost as thick as your thumb.

Where to buy JUMBO (size 7) yarn:

1. JoAnn Fabrics: has two size skeins. Bernat Jumbo yarn with 65 yards (need 3 skeins) $23.99 @ skein.  Bernat Jumbo yarn with 72 yards (need 3 skeins) $24.99 @ skein.
2. Michaels: Bernat Jumbo yarn is 32 yards (need 5 skeins) $12.99 @ skein.
3. Hobby Lobby: Yarn Bee Jumbo yarn is 28 yards (need 6 skeins) $7.99 @ skein.

ALL three stores put yarn on sale monthly.  If you want to do stripes you will need an extra skein of each color.

Beverages will be provided. Please bring small snacks to share, ones that don't make your fingers messy.
