ALDAcon

ALDAcon is the annual convention for the Association of Late Deafened Adults. The event is hosted by the national organization, ALDA Inc.

The convention lasts several days and takes place in a new location in the United States each year. Activities include inspirational speakers, informative workshops, social events/outings and the traditional Saturday night karaoke party.

Scholarship funds, aptly named for the late Bob Janssen, are available to defray costs for potential attendees who meet the following criteria:

• Are unable to attend without financial aid
• Have a hearing loss or are unable to understand spoken language
• Are a member of ALDA Chicago and ALDA Inc. at the time of scholarship application and during ALDAcon
• Preference is given to those who have never attended an ALDAcon nor received an ALDAcon scholarship, in that order.

Applications can be submitted beginning in February of a given ALDAcon year (e.g., February 2024 for ALDAcon 2024). The deadline to apply is 11:59 PM on ?????, 2026.

ALDAcon 2026 is in Williamsburg, Virginia from October 7 - 11, 2026.

Our destination hotel is the Williamsburg Lodge at 310 S England St, Williamsburg, VA 23185. The ALDAcon room rate is $219.00 + taxes per night thru September ??, 2026 or until the room block is filled.

Hotel Cancellation made within 7 days of ALDAcon 2026 will forfeit the cost of evening's room and tax.

Williamsburg Lodge is giving us a discount on parking, the discounted fee for parking in the hotel parking lot is $ a night.
